The purpose of this portal is to flout misconceptions and provide an honest look at one of the world's oldest civilizations. Founded in 589 B.C. by Cyrus the Great, the first Persian Empire was the cradle of Farsi literature, astronomy, mathematics, and dynamic architecture. This definitive style influenced neighboring countries, and later, Western civilization.
Today's prized Persian carpets and ornate calligraphic fonts are direct descendants of that aesthetic. Beyond its rich history, Iran continues to be a vibrant home to many people. Like any other country, Iran takes pride in its pro athletes, top-notch universities, and local heroes. This site offers a glimpse of the real Iranian people behind the political propaganda.
